Race 5 — 3:20PM BISHOP COLLINS AUDIT SPRINGTIME CONDITIONAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

1. Oakfield Duke — $12

Seasoned sprinter who thrives with cut in the ground and has twice won at 1250 metres on rain-affected going. Draws low for a stalking run over 1200 metres and gets a meaningful claim to offset the top weight. If they roll along, his late work at 1250 last start says he can close strongly at this shorter trip.

2. Prince Of Sorts — $21

Locally trained and maps to get cover from a tricky draw. His best figures are at 1400 metres but he has tactical speed and owns a Wyong placing. If the inside holds up and he lands one-out, one-back, he can pinch a slice.

3. Shirvington — $2.50

Lightly raced improver who resumed with a tough Wyong 1100 metres win and has since handled 1200 metres in CL1 grade. Carries a big impost but brings superior late splits for this class and keeps building a solid on-pace platform. Profiles as the most reliable setup at 1200 metres.

Rusty’s Verdict:

Shirvington is the banker at 1200 metres with map and recent figures; Oakfield Duke is the danger if the track is properly rain-affected; Prince Of Sorts is a small place ticket from the soft run if tempo drags them in.

Race 6 — 3:55PM WYONG LEAGUES GROUP WYONG CUP — BIG DANCE ELIGIBILITY (2100 METRES)

1. Alalcance (GB) — $3.80

Class mare with Group credentials and a rolling on-pace style that often breaks rivals at 2000–2600 metres. First full run this prep over a staying trip and drawn wide to work early at a turning track — a scenario that can be costly at Wyong.

3. Nellie Leylax (IRE) — $4.20

Arrives in winning form off the Premier’s Cup and is adept on soft and heavy. Has a tricky alley but tactical speed to offset it. Fitness and setup are good, but he may be vulnerable late if the speed is strong through the mid-race.

6. Age Of Sail (GB) — $3.20

Honest stayer who keeps finding the line at 2000–2600 metres. Maps for a soft midfield trail and will be strong late, but his winning profile tends to spike deeper into the prep or at bigger tracks.

Rusty’s Verdict:

Cup looks a three-way tug of war between the class, the map, and the pattern. Given likely tempo and wide alleys for key hopes, I’m marking this a no-bet race and watching the yard and pattern for clues.

Race 7 — 4:35PM DOMELAND MONA LISA STAKES (1350 METRES)

1. Just Feelin’ Lucky — $7.50

Progressive mare who rolled to a Group 3 mile win last prep and resumes off sharp trials. Versatile map: can sit first four from a middle gate and owns a neat 1200–1600 metres profile. If leaders get a breather mid-race, her turn of foot makes her dangerous at 1350 metres.

2. Snow In May — $6.00

Classy filly who won the Canberra Guineas at 1400 metres and brings top-level three-year-old form. Fresh enough, drawn wide but has the engine to cross and land handy. If she slides across without burning, her late strength at 1400 metres translates perfectly to 1350 metres here.

3. Churchill’s Choice — $13

Underrated four-year-old with a big springboard from strong three-year-old fillies’ form lines. Draw is awkward but she’ll be building late and often improves sharply second up around this trip.

Rusty’s Verdict:

Snow In May’s 1400 metres strength makes 1350 metres ideal if she crosses cleanly; Just Feelin’ Lucky is the proven winner resuming who maps to stalk and pounce; Churchill’s Choice is the knockout if they overdo it early.

Rusty’s Final Word

Race 5 — Shirvington — $2.50

Best of the day at 1200 metres on current figures and an economical Wyong map.

Race 6 — No Bet

Cup is map-sensitive with wide alleys for key hopes — happy to observe.

Race 7 — Snow In May — $6.00

Each-way play with 1400 metres power that suits 1350 metres; saver on Just Feelin’ Lucky at $7.50.
