Race 6 – Futurity Pastoral Showcase Baradine Cup (1400m)
Slush Fund – $5.50
Has been chipping away nicely and looks to have hit his straps again. That Coonamble win last start was all heart – took up the running and fought off challenges the entire straight. Back to 1400m suits perfectly, Zoe Hunt claims 1.5kg, and he’ll be right there on speed again. Loves a dogfight and this sets up beautifully.
The Impeckable – $4.80
Ultra-consistent type who rarely runs a bad race. Backing up from some tough country runs, including a near miss at Mudgee, he’s fit, seasoned and draws a gate that should allow him to slot midfield with cover. Will be strong late – if the tempo’s solid, he’s right in it.
Race 7 – Imperial Hotel Coonabarabran Showcase Cup (1600m)
Who Ever Thought – $3.70
Hard-fit and racing with real purpose. Was strong in the Dubbo Cup and now finds an easier assignment here. Siena Grima’s claim brings him right into this and barrier 1 gives him every chance to lead or box-seat. Loves rolling along at a steady clip – they’ll need to be good to get past him late.
Rhythm Is A Dancer – $7.50
Seasoned campaigner who thrives in these bush cups. The recent Muswellbrook win showed he’s still got plenty of spark, and while he’s not always the most consistent, his best is more than good enough to feature. Draws kindly, drops in grade, and will be motoring late if the speed’s genuine.
Shamedy – $10.00
Reliable country galloper who’s been finding the line strongly of late. That Bundarra Cup win last start was dominant, and he’s clearly in a happy place right now. The apprentice claim helps and the 1400–1600m step suits. This is harder, but he’s the kind you never rule out in these regional features.
Race 8 – Expo Country Boosted Showcase Class 2 Plate (1200m)
Keadool – $11
Honest on-pacer who’s been ultra-consistent all prep without much luck. Hit the line well at Coonamble last start and has the fitness edge over most here. Zoe Hunt knows him inside out and can push forward early to control things. Loves a scrap and will be in this for a long way.
Seven Mile Missile – $11
Smart Dubbo galloper resuming with a strong trial under his belt. Showed plenty of potential in his first prep and should return a better, stronger horse. Barrier 3 gives him the run of the race and his best efforts are clearly good enough to win this. Expect a bold return.
