1 SCOPICS – $6.50 Drops out of stronger Highway races and back to a level where he can make an impact. Draws well in 1, has the 3kg claim, and loves the trip. Expect him to park up midfield and look to weave through late. Gets every chance to bounce back.
2 SHADOW DANE – $5.00 Local galloper coming off a strong win in similar grade on a heavy track. Has tactical speed to hold a position and loves Dubbo. No claim this time but gets a jockey who knows him well. Genuine each-way player.
3 CITY GOLD SPEED – $4.20 Lightly raced and improving. Just missed last start and maps well here. Gets in with 60.5kg and is drawn to stalk the speed. If he brings his A-game, he’ll be in the finish.
Race 7 – ACTIVE EARTH LANDSCAPE SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
4 SARATOGA POWER – $3.10 Talented galloper who put a gap on them last start and has the class to repeat. Big weight but is flying and maps handy. Bell sticks and he’s the one they all have to beat.
6 MINNEWATER – $5.50 Consistent and honest. Won well at this track and trip two back and drops slightly in grade here. Can settle midfield and peel out late. Must include in exotics and a strong winning chance if tempo suits.
8 VIOLET AND BLUE – $10.00 Won fresh and backed it up with a solid effort at Leeton. Wide gate the knock but has early speed. If she crosses without using up too much petrol, she’s right in it.
Race 8 – TRACSERV DUBBO & ORANGE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
1 BRUTAL LOVE – $11.00 Form reads plain but forgive recent efforts. Draws soft and gets a chance to find the front or box seat. Classy enough to be there when it counts.
4 JOY OF THE WORLD – $6.00 Dominant maiden win and form since has been sound. Can bounce back from a tough watch last time. Drawn to get the right run and has shown she can sprint well.
7 MISS KARIS – $7.00 Rarely runs a bad race and looks well placed here. Has been around the mark at recent runs and deserves a breakthrough. Watch for her late.
