Race 4 – Adam Bird Electrics Maiden Plate (1240 METRES)
6 OLIVIA ROSE – $10
Backs up a solid return with another run where she found the line. Drawn the paint here and should camp right behind the speed. Hit the line nicely last start and has a fitness edge over some key rivals. This looks her chance to break through in a winnable race.
8 BANKNOTE HUSTLER – $2.15
Looks ready to cash in. Has been plugging away in stronger maidens and gets back to country grade here. Draw is a little awkward but Melham helps offset that. Third-up and ready to peak. Won’t know himself in this grade.
12 SOROUSH – $10
Had excuses last time out but stuck on okay. Back to a tighter-turning track and finds a winnable set-up. Gets winkers on and could be ready to turn the corner. Expect a more aggressive ride this time. Looks some chance if he jumps well.
Race 7 – Wilsons Real Estate 0-62 Handicap (1340 METRES)
6 AREZZO – $13
Starting to show signs of getting back to form. Not far off at Sale when closing late. Blinkers and tongue tie go on and this might be the gear switch he’s been needing. Good draw to stalk and pounce if the gaps appear. Knockout hope.
7 POINT OF ECSTASY – $19
Racing well and broke through last time with a strong win. Has a bit of upside and the stable tends to place them well. Can settle up close and gets a cushy draw to find the fence early. In the mix again if she holds that form.
12 TAGLINE – $2.5
Tidy win last start and looks to be going the right way. Maps midfield with cover and has shown a strong turn of foot. Carries top yard expectations and this doesn’t look any harder than what he handled last time. Obvious winning chance.
Race 8 – Auswide Plumbing & Civil 0-62 Handicap (1540 METRES)
1 ESKIMO – $7
Honest campaigner who stuck on bravely to score last time. Likes to roll forward and gets a handy gate here to find a spot early. Not much harder here and Rawiller sticks. Can win again if the tempo isn’t too hot up front.
6 SHIDAN – $6.5
Tough, honest and keeps showing up. Stuck on well in recent runs and gets in light with the claim. Form around him is stacking up. Will need a clean run from the gate but looks a genuine winning chance at fair odds.
8 CHILLY CHARLIE – $16
Forgive last run when things went pear-shaped. Was flying prior with solid runs and drops in grade here. Can race handy and should get a soft run just behind the speed. Worth another look at each-way odds.
Rusty’s Plays:
Best Bet: BANKNOTE HUSTLER (Race 4) – Drops in class and ready to fire third-up. Won’t get a better chance.
Value: SHIDAN (Race 8) – Keeps giving. In form, in light and maps for a soft run. Looks a sneaky hope at a price.
Each-Way: AREZZO (Race 7) – Gear changes could spark something. Can launch late from the soft draw. Overs if he brings his best.
