Race 6 – Rich Enuff @ Woodside Park BM62 Handicap (1479 METRES)

1. British Poet – $8.00

Needs everything to go right and hasn’t been consistent on firmer decks. However, a return to good ground may be the spark he needs, especially with Childs jumping aboard. Fitness won’t be an issue. Worth including if the leaders falter late.

4. Tatsu – $3.80

Bubbling under and knocking on the door. Stuck on well behind Acelum last start and has been building nicely through synthetic and provincial runs. The wide alley could be a blessing if tempo holds. Looks ready to win with even luck.

6. Vivacissimo (NZ) – $6.00

Progressive mare with some serious upside. She strung together a couple of strong wins at 1400m last prep, displaying a sharp turn of foot and solid closing splits. Failed badly when tried over the mile on a soft deck but bounced back with a dominant win before a short break. Trials have been sound, and she looks set to run well fresh at this trip. Drawn wide but has tactical versatility. If she reproduces her best, she’s a live contender.

Race 7 – Foxwedge @ Woodside Park BM62 Handicap (1118 METRES)

2. Steel Move – $3.40

Blinkers go on at the right time. Has been edging closer and drops back in trip here with Allen aboard. A bit of sting out helps and maps for a soft trail off speed. Should be right in the finish if he sees daylight.

9. Carolina Breeze – $5.00

First-up win rated well and wasn’t disgraced at Pakenham in CL1 company. Has the upside and tactical speed to offset gate seven. May find this easier and looks primed to make a strong return.

14. Zenacity – $9.00

Trialled smartly and has form around horses better than this. Will need luck from the draw but has enough toe to settle midfield. If things fall into place, she’s the knockout at odds.

Race 8 – bet365 Same Race Multi BM66 Handicap (1887 METRES)

1. Jabbawockeez – $6.50

The old boy has some class on his day and gets a big claim from Pang. Has been holding his form better than it looks on paper. Could be suited if they crawl mid-race and turn it into a dash home.

4. Entrusting – $2.80

Wasn’t far off in better grade last prep. Drawn for a cushy run and drops back in trip which suits fresh. Ben Allen sticks – ticks plenty of boxes. Has trialled well and looks ready to fire.

12. The Vocalist – $23.00

Has some upside and loves the circuit, but will need a major form reversal. Not hopeless at odds if others over-race. Keep safe in wider exotics.

Rusty’s Plays

Best: Tatsu – $3.80

Hard fit and finds a suitable race profile. Should be fighting out the finish.

Value: Zenacity – $9.00

Trialled up nicely and should get her chance to run on. Good each-way hope.

Each-Way:  British Poet – $8.00

Can bob up if tempo suits and might be overlooked in the market.
