Ipswich R2 – Acapulco Girl

Did plenty wrong on debut but still placed and was hard in the market. Close-up in a recent trial and looks to have come on nicely. Breeding suggests more to come with distance, and this looks a very winnable assignment. One to follow this prep.

Ipswich R4 – Fludway

💰Value Bet

Strong closing effort last start when running the 2nd-fastest L600 of the meet after dropping out to last. First-up run was solid too. Suited getting to 1200m now and finds a very even BM58. Can run a race at odds—each way appeal.

Ipswich R5 – Ring Of Steel

Resuming after things didn’t go his way last prep, beaten odds-on fav first up. Goes well fresh and loves Ipswich. If anywhere near right, he’ll take this field apart. Looks ready—strong push.

Ipswich R8 – Pink Thunder

🔒Best Bet

First-up and already a proven fresh performer. Close-up in much stronger races last prep and finds an ideal Class 2 today from gate 1. Should be camped right behind the speed and will pounce late. Looks the class runner—very hard to beat.

Canterbury R3 – Mia Ballerina

Freshened and trialled well. Tongue tie goes back on, and she’s been racing well around the speed—just got nailed late last start, run home in 32.6 prior up on speed. Not much tempo in this and maps to control/sit handy. Can go one better now.

Canterbury R5 – Flying Embers

Chasing three straight wins and doing it in style—last start win in slick time (L600 33.4). Jockey sticks and gets 3kg off. Steps up in grade but looks more than capable of measuring up. Going too well to ignore.

Canterbury R7 – Pisanello

🔒Best Bet

Class runner who’s been sent out fav in G3 and listed grade at his past two. Closed strongly in both, running the 4th-fastest L600 of the meet first-up. Maps to drift back but has the turn of foot to blouse them late. Looks better than this field—confident.

Sandown R6 – Quiseen

Won well as a short-priced fav last start, justifying the market move. Strong form race prior and now in a small field, she maps to get every chance again. Racing consistently and ready to go back-to-back.

Sandown R7 – Varane

Ultra-consistent and brings strong form behind Tumbling and Half Yours—two capable types. Ran time and home in 33.8 last start. Drawn to settle handy again and should be right in the finish. Worth following through the grades.
