Doomben R2 – Jack Duggan

💰Value Bet

Ultra-consistent this prep and brings strong NSW form into this. Beaten just over a length last start behind El Jasor, who has since tackled G2 level. Maps to be on speed and makes his own luck—can give a big sight at a nice price.

Doomben R9 – Warby

Sat closer last start and showed plenty of grit late, holding off challengers while clocking the 2nd-fastest last 400m of the meet. Should get into a similar spot again, and with even luck, looks very hard to beat. Progressive and on the up this prep.

Randwick R3 – Lord Of Biscay

Impressive earlier this year with dominant back-to-back wins including a Ballina Cup romp. Trialled well and hit the line hard fresh at Newcastle in fast time. Draws well, J-Mac on, and ready to peak now fresh off a recent trial—expect him to feature late.

Randwick R7 – Birdman

Chasing down Alalcance has proven tough but Birdman keeps bridging the gap. Steps up to 3200m which looks to be his go, draws perfectly, and should travel midfield with cover. If they make Alalcance work, Birdman’s turn of foot will prove decisive. Head start has been the difference last 2.

Randwick R9 – Fangirl

🔒Best Bet

In sublime form and absolutely flying this prep. Challenged Via Sistina then just missed last start and looks to relish the mile now. Simply the class act in the field. Hard to knock and looks the one to beat.

Rockhampton R5 – Pipistrelle

Smart mare resuming off a strong trial and proven fresh. Placed in metro grade last prep and was well supported in similar company locally. Gets the 3kg claim and drawn ideally—should be very forward enough, better than these.

Rockhampton R6 – Sweet Pretender

Trialled well and hit the line strongly on debut in the Pat O’Shea Plate in heavy conditions. I imagine better suited on top of the ground and will settle closer from the draw. Has upside, and with natural improvement, she’s right in the mix.

Rockhampton R7 – Rocky Reward

Good return first-up at Eagle Farm, hitting the line in a sharp 33.04s—8th-fastest L600 of the day. Strong winner at the Gold Coast before that. Looks set for this race, drawn perfectly, and with a top jockey on from an astute yard everything says ready to win.
